Early 70's Interiors
These photos are from a Japanese magazine from 1970 when the Disneyland Hotel had just opened the Marina Tower with its brand new lobby.
I remember that sunken lobby! I was about 14 when we drove down from San Francisco for a family vacation around 1971. Usually we stayed at one of the motels nearby, but for some reason my father sprung for the Disneyland Hotel, and not the old motel rooms, but the brand new Marina Tower. I was in heaven. I remember each of the 3 elevators had a different interior color (blue, red, yellow, IIRC).
Wow, these are very nice photos! I wonder if the hotel looked just the same today, clean and new but totally 1970's, if people would love it or not!
