This is the elusive brochure that was the most difficult to obtain for me. I now believe I have them all. I actually had another one of these a couple of years ago but it was somehow misplaced. This is the first brochure to use actual pictures of the Disneyland Hotel. It's the second 1956 brochure and is very rare. I love the 50's colors and the 50's look of this brochure.
The front cover of the 1956 Hotel brochure.
Inside look at the first brochure with actual pictures of the second configuration at the Disneyland Hotel. The Hotel now had a little over 200 rooms and several restaurants, a new lobby and an Olympic size pool.
Inside the Hotel. If you look closely, a couple of these pictures are posted earlier in this blog.
Rooms started at just $10 per night.
Join me for a trip through the World's Most Exciting Hotel. This blog covers the evolution of the Disneyland Hotel through the Wrather years, 1955 to 1989. Hope it brings back some wonderful memories.

1966 Memo
Jack Wrather kept close contact with Disney and what their plans were with expanding Disneyland. Almost every Disneyland expansion coincided with a Disneyland Hotel expansion. In this memo, Jack is trying to gauge Disney's plans for the Park so he too can plan accordingly for the Hotel.

Conference Rooms Late 1960's at the Disneyland Hotel
More very rare pictures of the conference room facilities from 1968-1969 at the Disneyland Hotel. I am hoping that one or more of these bring back some memories of a conference or company meeting and that person can let us know where the room was. The picture with the pool outside of it is a real mystery to me. Sometimes I study some of the many pictures I have of the Disneyland hotel and I learn something I never knew before. I see little buildings that were added or taken away and I wonder what exactly those were. Parking lots suddenly materialize or trees disappear. The Hotel was in a constant state of change.
Late 60's Disneyland Hotel Conference Room - I can't for the life of me figure out where this room was located. It looks like a pool or water feature outside the window. It does not look like the Olympic Pool. Anyone?
Possibly the Oak Room conference facilities? Mr. Kittle, can you tell if this picture shows the Oak Room Conference room?

Miscellaneous Pictures
I have been busy working on the first addendum and have not had much free time to update this blog. Today, I have posted a couple of miscelaneous shots with no correlation whatsoever. I just thought they were interesting shots. I have some new aerials I will updating shortly as well.

Helicopter Service - Golden West took over from LA Airways in the late 60's. This is a great shot from 1972 of people boarding the helicopter with the front of the Marina Tower in the background.
1962 Disneyland Hotel Ad - Not sure where this came from but it had some neat information on it. It had "1962" pencilled in at the bottom
1956 - Ryan Construction Company sign atop the unfinished shops building at the Disneyland Hotel

Letter to Roy O. Disney
Letter to Roy Disney expressing the Wrather's grief over the passing of Walt Disney. Jack Wrather's favorite investment by far was the Disneyland Hotel.
Internal Guest Rooms at the Disneyland Hotel
Two new shots from inside guest rooms; one inside the Tower Building and one from an original Garden Room. Interior shots are much more difficult to locate as opposed to external or outside shots.

Miscellaneous Pictures
Monorail Bar - Relax with a nice liquid refreshment while watching the Monorail approach. The decor inside this bar featured transportation modes around the world and had panoramic windows which showed the approaching Monorail trains.
Balcony Dining - You could relax and enjoy the view from your balcony while dining on room service breakfast.

1956
A couple of 1956 photographs added today. These were just prior to the Hotel's "official" grand opening which took place in August of 1956. Construction was at a frantic pace to meet deadlines. I love the aerial shots and I always try to find something interesting or that I did not know in them. A new building, a new feature or any new tidbit of information. For instance, what's that new building not on Disneyland Hotel property in the middle foreground of the aerial photo? Looks like it has two outhouses in the back of it. Wonder if this is the construction portable or office used to build a new hotel next to the Disneyland Hotel? There is also a large sign next to it which unfortunately, can't be read from this angle.
Final work on the administration building. Looks like a brand new Chevrolet pick-up in this picture.
July 1956 Aerial - The Hotel's official grand opening would be a little over a month away.
